Guidance for Unaffiliated Researchers

Investigators unaffiliated with Allen College or UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital may use the ACIRB for review of studies or projects. Please see the Allen College Institutional Review Board Fee Structure webpage for more information.

Unaffiliated investigators who would like to recruit Allen College students or staff may contact the ACIRB to determine the level of assistance required or if a review is necessary. If a study or project review is not required, the ACIRB may ask to review the IRB approval letter for the study or project and any recruitment materials before a recruitment request is approved. 

Unaffiliated investigators who would like to recruit UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital staff should contact the Regional Hospital Compliance Officer. Please email the ACIRB at ACIRB@allencollege.edu for information about where to send your request.
