Connie Miller, Class of 1966

Connie, who is from Ackley, Iowa, graduated from the Allen Memorial Hospital Lutheran School of Nursing in 1966. She worked for 3 years after graduation at Allen Hospital, then worked part time at a local nursing home for 27 years, serving as staff nurse, Director of Nursing, and consultant. In her nursing career, she worked in public health 3 years for the Migrant Action Program, serving migrant families which came to her area to harvest asparagus. She also worked for Hawkeye Community College teaching Basic Life Support, EMA, and the Certified Nursing Assistant course. Connie also taught a nursing continuing education class on System Lupus Erythematous. It has been a special interest of hers due to their children's related illnesses. Connie's life of community service includes many board and activities throughout the Cedar Valley.
