Allen College Appoints New Leaders

Waterloo, Iowa--Allen College Chancellor Dr. Jerry Durham has announced the appointment of two long-time faculty members to serve as key leaders of the College.  Dr. Nancy Kramer has assumed the role of  Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs.  She replaces Dr. Susan Dawson who resigned to serve as the head of an associate degree nursing program in downstate Illinois.  Dr. Kendra Williams-Perez has been appointed Dean of the School of Nursing. 

altDr. Kramer,  the R.J. McElroy Endowed Professor of  Nursing, is a pediatric nurse practitioner.  She holds a doctorate in education from UNI, a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Dubuque, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from upper Iowa University, a bachelor of science degree from the College of St. Francis, and a diploma in nursing from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.  Dr. Kramer completed her nurse practitioner education at the University of Iowa.  Dr. Kramer formerly served as Dean of  Allen College’s  School of Nursing.

Dr. Williams-Perez, who is a Professor of Nursing, previously served as Allen College’s Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Nursing Education.  She holds a doctorate in education from UNI, a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Coe College. 

In speaking about these appointments Chancellor Durham said “Allen College is very fortunate to have these experienced nurse educators in these key leadership roles.  I have every confidence that both Dr. Kramer and Dr. Williams-Perez will collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and students in leading our institution to new levels of excellence and achievement.”
