Winter Hall Nears Completion on the Allen College Campus

WATERLOO, Iowa — Representatives of Larson Construction Company report that Allen College’s newest building, Winter Hall, will be completed by August 1 and will be available for use when the fall semester begins on August 20th. Construction on the building started in May 2011 and has progressed on schedule, aided by the mild winter. The new building will provide four additional classrooms, 17 faculty offices, staff space, conference rooms, a warming kitchen, and informal gathering areas. Faculty and staff will move to Winter Hall in early August. According to Allen College chancellor Dr. Jerry Durham, a grand opening ceremony will be held on August 16 for donors and other invited guests.
