Allen Institutional Scholarships

Scholarship assistance is available through Allen College for qualified applicants. Each year, a general application for Allen College scholarship assistance is made available to prospective and currently enrolled students online. Additional applications for scholarships offered by organizations other than Allen College are available. Contact the Student Service Office (319) 226-2000 for more information.

Recipients must have a complete admission file, be accepted or enrolled at Allen College at the time of selection and distribution of the award/s. Some scholarships require full-time enrollment.

  11. The Keith M. & Dorothea W. Baskins Scholarship: BSN Scholarship. Applicant must be a deserving student with a caring approach to patient care. Given to two undergraduate nursing students.

  14. The Patricia Boeck Memorial Scholarship: Nursing. Preference may be given to a graduate from Janesville High School. If none, preference may be given to a graduate from Bremer County.
  15. The Cynthia Bohm Memorial Scholarship: Undergraduate Nursing Scholarship. Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
  16. The Agnes Essman Brody Memorial Scholarship: Undergraduate nursing scholarship.  
  17. The Dona Buhr Memorial Scholarship: Undergraduate nursing scholarship. Preference may be given to a student with a rural background from Bremer County, minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
  18. The Erma Burk Memorial Scholarship: Nursing Scholarship. Preference may be given to graduates of Waukon or East Allamakee High School or to a graduate from a high school in Allamakee County.
  19. The Kent & Carol Charley Endowed Scholarship: BSN scholarship, minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
  20. The Marjorie K. Cochran Scholarship: Nursing scholarship given to a member of or anticipate membership in Nurses’ Christian Fellowship at Allen College.

  22. The Colwell Family Scholarship: BSN or MSN scholarship, minimum GPA of 3.0 required.

  29. The Barbara Fulcher Memorial Scholarship: BSN scholarship awarded to a student who expresses an interest in emergency, critical care, or obstetrical nursing.

  33. The Jane E. Hasek Endowed Scholarship: Undergraduate nursing or radiography full-time student at Allen College for their senior year. Minimum GPA of 3.0 required. Applicant should exemplify the “best of the class” as may be demonstrated by:
    - Incorporates the values and beliefs of the mission and philosophy of Allen College in his/her professional and personal life.
    - Is a role model for others as an outstanding clinical practitioner.
    - Demonstrates leadership qualities and a commitment to improving health care through involvement in professional and community activities.

  37. The Pastor Jon & Heidi Hennings Nursing & Ministry Scholarship: BSN student enrolled part- or full-time at Allen College. GPA of 2.5-3.0 or higher.
